They say a full pocket is a happy pocket. And A Happy Pocket is not only the name of the Trash Can Sinatras' latest album, it's also what Scotland's most under-rated band are starting to acquire.
Success looms large for these five lads from Kilmarnock after the critical acclaim of the film Spooktime and their trip to the Canned Film Festival.
Guitarist John Douglas says: "The phone never stops ringing which makes a change from us calling them. We loved doing "Spooktime" so we were very excited when we were asked to perform two tracks for Irvine Welsh's play "Marabou Stork Nightmares."
"It's better than Trainspotting and we've recorded some daft cover versions for it, "You Only Live Twice" and "Born Free""
But it doesn't end there for the melancholic musos.
"We're also contributing a track to the Smiths' tribute along with Supergrass and the Boo Radleys," add John. "It's great covering other people's songs because you can do what you want and not feel precious about them."
"We're more confident than we've ever been," he says.
A Happy Pocket was recorded in the Trash Cans own Shabby Road studios, like the Beatles Abbey Road but more rundown. "Maybe we'll have some money to do the studio up now," laughs John.
