concert review - trashcan sinatras in edinburgh

MAIL MUSIC: T ON THE FRINGE

TRASHCAN SINATRAS LIQUID ROOM, EDINBURGH, AUGUST 18

RATING ##### (5/5)

The Magic Numbers made sure fans fell under their spell at and Ash guitarist Charlotte Hatherley embarked on her solo venture. Up and coming group Sons and Daughters joined fellow Scots Trashcan Sinatras and Dot Allison to captivate fans in Edinburgh as part of the T On The Fringe festival.

While Travis play stadiums, Glasgow's critically-acclaimed Trashcan Sinatras seem destined to spend their life playing small venues. A shame, because Francis Reader is a better singer than Fran Healy and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

Great songs such as Leave Me Alone and A Coda were wasted on a slim, yet vocally enthusiastic Liquid Room. Even Frank Sinatra would agree the Trashcans deserve some mainstream success.
