january 2007

it has been a bit quiet lately, but here are some updates:

look for trashcansinatras.com to be relaunched with a new look and more interactive features, including streaming movies and mp3s and photo slideshows. the new site should go live soon.

the band has been working on new songs and has around 15 songs in various stages of completion as they continue to work out the songs in rehearsals and prepare to record a new album. these new songs include: astronomy, come if you're coming, down and out in new york city, easy on the eye, the engine, i don't know how, i wish you'd met her, the neighbours place, prisons...and working titles include: the abba tune, the camera tune, the fender rhodes tune, the j. geils tune and the shangri-las tune. the current plan is to get into the studio this spring and release an album around the fall.

the band's song on the upcoming scottish poetry/music collaboration ballads of the books is called "half an apple" (the working title had been "thin air"). the song is based on a poem written by ali smith. the album is released by chemikal underground in march.

the band is going to start answering the last round of website q&a. you can still address questions to specific band members or send in general questions and we'll try to get them answered. an added bonus for the younger fans, if you are age 12 or less, you can send in your questions to the 'kids corner.' please include your age when sending the question. send questions to info@trashcansinatras.com and anything not answered this round will be picked up next time.
