hi, i just don't feel like going back and looking for the last time this came up, so if you have requests for website downloads (mp3 or video), post them here and i'll see what i can do.

i've got osucobra's request for "weightlifting 1" live.

i think a live "genius i was" isn't far off.

How's about a decent version of 'In Capitals'. The other one on the site is pretty 'raw'!!!

???

the kcrw 9 dec set is something I think people have been wanting to burn onto cd. wild mountainside is on that, we were able to get it copied to cd but I think there have been others who could not.

Is there any troubador video footage available?

Eddy :)

forgot about "in capitals", thanks for the reminder. that could be tough, though. they played it around 10 times from 1999-2000 (one of which is on the dowloads page) so they're all pretty similar. then they obviously just busted it out again recently on the acoustic tour (and once last year at brel) so that'll have a different sound to it. let me see if i can get a good one.

"wild mountainside" from the kcrw session shouldn't be a problem.

there is troubadour footage from the midnight october show as well as the march 2004 show, so we can pull a video from there.

I'd love to hear ANYthing that's a decent recording! I love hearing/watching any of the stuff on the downloads page, but there seems to be a shortage of well-recorded material. Seems like a lot of folks are using the built-in mics in camcorders, or recording with devices that have automatic audio level settings and mics placed poorly. These generally mean terrible sound quality.

ANY studio outtakes would be VERY welcome!!!

I don't mean to whine... hope it doesn't come across as such. I sure appreciate the time that fans take to make videos and recordings (Brian Mendel's FANTASTIC guitar closeup vids come to mind!), but would love to hear some "HiFi" stuff as well.

Thanks!

hammertime will have to wait until after the promo is released. that's another rare one, looks like it has only been performed 8 times and i don't think any were recorded from the soundboard.

on the quality - you're right chris. sometimes all that was available for many shows was audio feeds from camcorder footage or audience recordings. i think the quality of the downloads is much better over the last year or so and hopefully that continues for the more recent recordings.

for you ipod users out there, i will try to post aac files in addition to mp3s.

Can I request the cover versions that were played at the Brel shows. Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits I think.....

the joni mitchell cover is already available (audio track from camcorder):

woman of heart and mind

"jonesburg, il" is now added to the list...

also the available "weightlifting 1" recordings are audience versions from what i remember.
