An Apple Mac Powerbook G4.
2. do you have halloween in scotland? if so, what did you dress up like when you were a kid?
Yes, we have Halloween. I remember being dressed as a robot. My costume was made from cardboard boxes.
3. do you have christmas in scotland? if so, do you have santa claus or someone else?
Yes, we have Christmas and Santa...things are much the same over here.
4. if you weren't in the trashcans what would you do?
When i was young i would dream of archaeological digs at the pyramids or soaring over the highlands in my glider or driving the bus with a flask of tea and the radio on all day...any of these options would still be fine.
5. what was your favorite subject in school?
English. Classical Studies (Sadly, no longer taught in schools in Scotland).
6. when you were in school, were you a bully?
No. I was a quiet presence, I kept away from the mainstream. Didn't follow the crowd, but didn't hang out with the obvious rebels. The best years were the last two years of Secondary, aged 15 to 16, we got a room with a record player in it and me and my pals would bring in records to play in the break.
7. how many brothers and sisters do you have? when you were kids did you play tricks on each other?
I have three brothers, no sisters...things could get out of hand...i was heavily involved in my brother Stephen's broken arm, when we were playing a game called "Row The Boat" on the bed in his room...Stephen was flung out of the 'boat' and collided with the wardrobe...my advice is take it easy.
8. how big is your family? do you have any kids or grandkids?
I have 2 stepsons, aged 14 and 18...me and my girl have been together for six years so I have been a family man for a while now and it is wonderful...there are no signs, so far, of any grandkids.

How long have you played guitar? (strangely serious and legitimate)

What is you favorite dinosaur? (he wanted it to be known that his is the Meglasaurus)
Plesiosaur (Nessie)...the Meglasaurus is very cool too.

5ft 10ish.
11. How good/poor is your eyesight?
My eyesight is good.
12. Are you a good cook?
I can get flustered if my timing is off...I like to be left on my own to cook...the food can be good, but I have a limited menu.
13. when you were a boy were you afraid of the dark or any monsters?
When I was young, we lived on the edge of town...outside of our bedroom window there were fields and a wood...and there was a streetlight that lit up our room and, late at night, bats would come flying around, attracted by the light or the heat it gave off or maybe the food it attracted...anyway...whoever said they have good natural radar is an idiot...these bats would crash into our window all the time...frightening...sounded like gunshots...I was never bothered by monsters though...that must be terrible.
14. what was your favorite stuffed animal?
A 'groaning' teddy bear.
15. Do you believe in the Loch Ness monster, Bigfoot, Abonimable Snowman
or aliens?

I love Spiderman...but they're both cool.

Yes, we put up a real tree, we put some milk out for santa and some carrots for the reindeer...sometimes it snows...we get up far too early and our stockings are always filled with presents...we see all of our family and later we all stuff our faces with a massive dinner...we watch the telly and blether...christmas is great.
25. My three ½ year old son Theo would like to know if you would play “Don’t Let Me Down”. We listen to Weightlifting in the car a lot.
We might play it someday...it's a brilliant song. And I heartily agree...Weightlifting is great driving music

27. dear trashcans, i have been a fan since i was 18 months old (in 1998) but have never been able to see you play live. do you think you will ever play an english festival again, or venue that allows under 18s or do you think i will have to wait until i am 18 in 2015? i hope you will still be together then.

I would love us to play at one of the English festivals...We are playing at the Connect Festival in Scotland at the end of August and I believe the only age restriction is no under 5 year olds...maybe see you there?...Sorry about the 'no prize' thing...heads will roll...send your address to joe at the website and we will try to make things a whole lot better.

To try to be more understanding.

30. What is your most favorite adventure?
Well...When i was young...me and my mates formed a rock and roll band and we made records with songs we had written ourselves and instruments we had learned to play ourselves. We went on the road...all over the world...we made quite a name for ourselves and we made lots and lots of friends...and all of this came out of doing something that we enjoyed. I am still enjoying my favourite adventure...find yourself something that you enjoy and you wont be far from an adventure.
